We want the Ferens to be accessible to everyone. If there’s anything we can do to support your visit, please get in touch: email@example.com
Guidance and assistance dogs are welcome here at Ferens.
We’ve created an audio descriptive guide of gallery highlights to help you enjoy your visit. To listen on your phone, download the audio guide here.
Alternatively, we have handsets and headphones available at the gallery. Just let us know you’d like one when you arrive. Or you can book a handset in advance by calling: 01482 616 398. We just ask for a £5 returnable deposit.
Baby change facilities are available in the accessible toilets to the rear of the building.
Ferens Art Gallery is free for everyone, so carers are welcome to join the people they support on their visit.
There are nine designated disabled parking spaces on Paragon Street (behind City Hall), a few minutes away from the gallery.
Roads and paths
Ferens Art Gallery has a ramp entrance with a shallow incline.
There are toilets off Gallery 2, including a combined accessible toilet/baby changing facility.
There is another set of toilets to the right of the café at the rear of the building, including a combined accessible toilet/baby change and unisex cubicles.
The nearest Changing Places toilet is in the Wilson Centre on Alfred Gelder Street. The toilet is to the left as you go in the Queens Gardens entrance. There’s also a Changing Places toilet at the Guildhall. Please ask at the reception for directions.
The gallery is fully accessible for wheelchair users. We have ramp access at the front of the building and lifts between gallery floors.
We also have a manual wheelchair available to borrow. Just ask at the front desk or give us a call in advance to make sure it’s available: 01482 616 398.
