Hull Museums, in partnership with the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), are proud to present the creative outcomes of the V&A led DesignLab project, an initiative aimed at inspiring the next generation of designers. This collaborative project brings together students, designers, and museum collections to explore the theme of home through design.
Students from Sirius Academy West, Sirius Academy North, and The Boulevard Academy will work alongside acclaimed designer Adrian Riley to investigate what home means to them—drawing inspiration from Hull’s and the V&A's rich museum collections. Through hands-on workshops, they will develop imaginative design responses that reinterpret heritage in bold and personal ways.
The project also supports a key educational goal: to increase student engagement and uptake in Design & Technology subjects, by showing how design can be a powerful tool for self-expression, storytelling, and career pathways.
