Emma was born in Hull and grew up near Spurn Point. Always an artis, Emma enjoyed drawing the Holderness landscapes around her home and as a teenager connected with nature when she worked on local farms during school holidays.

She studied art and teaching at Southampton Solent University and completed a PGCE Bretton Hall, Wakefield, before embarking on her own sculptural practice.

Based in Whitby, Emma is known for her life-size willow and metal sculptures and was commissioned to create the Whitby Heritage Sculpture Trail in 2021. Emma now exhibits nationally and internationally, and her sculptures grace the gardens of stately homes, galleries and private homes around the country. Recently her artwork, Grace Darling, was featured in the Ferens’ Sirens: Women and the Sea exhibition.
