Step into the charming world of the Moomins with a specially curated interactive exhibition at Hull’s stunning Ferens Art Gallery. 

The exhibition celebrates the beloved stories and enchanting artwork of Tove Jansson’s Moomin characters. Wander through beautifully crafted island installations that invite little people to explore big feelings, discover projections of Tove Jansson’s stunning paintings, and experience the gentle magic, curiosity, and wonder that have captured hearts for generations. This immersive celebration honours Tove’s enduring creativity, warmth, and imagination.

Help us celebrate the launch of ‘The Wonders of Moominvalley’ exhibition at Ferens Art Gallery with a day filled of Moomin family fun. Join artists Jemma Brown from Square Peg and artist Jodie Smith from Happy Doodles to make your own Moomin themed dioramas or to try some whimsical Moomin inspired nature printing, and join Hull Libraries for enchanting Moomin storytelling.

Experience the magic of Moominvalley at the Ferens Art Gallery as award winning animators My Pockets guide young creators through making their very own mini stop motion animation inspired by Tove Jansson’s beloved Moomin stories. In this fun, hands on workshop, the team will support you from first idea to finished film.

Professional paper artist and illustrator Alex Bennett brings the magic of Moominvalley to the Ferens Art Gallery in this creative, hands on workshop. Young makers will explore the enchanting world of Tove Jansson’s iconic stories while crafting their very own layered paper shadow box.
