Admission is free at Wilberforce House Museum. There’s no need to book, but here’s some handy info to help you plan your visit.

Last admission: 30-minutes before closing time.

We’re open on bank holidays except Good Friday.
We’re also closed between 24–28 December and on 1 January.

Where to find us
You’ll find us in the Museums Quarter in Hull’s Old Town, next to the River Hull. Streetlife Museum and Hull and East Riding Museum of Archaeology are also nearby.

By bus
Hull bus station (Paragon Interchange) is a 15–20-minutes walk away.
The nearest bus stop is near Drypool Bridge on Alfred Gelder Street.
By train
Hull train station is also situated 15-20-minutes walk away at Paragon Interchange.
With regular connections to York, Sheffield, Manchester and beyond.
By car
Being at the centre of Hull, we’re easily accessible by car.
You’ll find parking nearby on Alfred Gelder Street, Gandhi Way, Lowgate and Wilberforce Drive. All within a few minutes of the museum.
By bike
Cycling here? We have space to park your bike outside Streetlife Museum.

Bookings
It’s free to visit the Wilberforce House Museum. And you don’t need to book – just come on down.
However, if you’re visiting with a large group (15 or more), please let us know by booking on the Self-directed visits page or get in touch with us at museums@hcandl.co.uk.
Food and drink
We don’t have our own café at the museum, but you’ll find a lovely outdoor picnic area here. If the weather’s good, why not bring a packed lunch and make the most of it?
There are also lots of places to eat and drink nearby. Including an independent café just across from our entrance on High Street.
Gift shop
If you’d like to travel home with a little souvenir, visit our gift shop at the entrance to the museum.
